Welcome to my web page for the Sylacauga Park Trails. This is another set of trails out of the Passport to Fitness program. There are three parks within the city that have walking paths. I managed to walk each of them this afternoon (July 5, 2010). You will find pictures and descriptions from my walk below. If you have any comments or questions please feel free to drop me an email through the link below. Enjoy! :) |
The first park I went to was Fairmont Park. The walking path here is crushed rock and is 3/4 of a mile long. The park contains a small playground and a couple of baseball diamonds suitable for practice or for a pick-up game. There is no formal parking at this park except for a few handicapped parking spaces. You can use the following coordinates to get to this park: N 33° 12' 48.7" W 086° 13' 48.5". The nearest address is 1501 Commerce Drive, Sylacauga, AL 35150. |
The next park I went to was Noble Park. The walking path here is a concrete sidewalk that winds itself around the park. It is 1/4 of a mile long. The park contains a small playground, a skateboard park, and a pavillion. You can use the following coordinates to get to this park: N 33° 10' 49.4" W 086° 14' 59.8". The nearest address is 993 N Broadway Ave., Sylacauga, AL 35150. |
The final park I went to was Veterans Park. The walking path here is a crushed gravel that winds itself around the park. It is .2 of a mile long. The park contains a few tables and benches and the veterans memorial. You can use the following coordinates to get to this park: N 33° 09' 23.9" W 086° 16' 18.7". The nearest address is 300 Lee Street, Sylacauga, AL 35151. This park is right off of Highway 280 and across the street from Pinecrest Elementary School. |
